Color Libre

Color Libre Aftermovie is a mini-documentary that explores the current Puerto Rican identity. It explores collectivity, art-making, and political engagement, through a visual narrative and an open conversation with participants of the Color Libre Movement. It illustrates the possibilities of participation through art as the fundamental medium for expression to discuss the theme of identity as an individual as well as a member of a group.

Color Libre is a collaborative production among five prominent artists: Don Rimx, Lunar New Year, Mata Ruda, Ricardo Cabret, and Gaia. Uniting forces under a single mural, this unique group of artists aims to capture a transcultural exchange of ideas about the social and cultural backgrounds that unite them, as opposed to dividing them. The collaborators recognize the importance of spreading their universal message across all realms of the visual art industry. Their mission is to share their work in traditional gallery settings, as well as in communities outside of Puerto Rico’s metropolitan area that normally cannot manage to benefit from such fruitful events.
